
ClubDundee is a Dundee City Council Club Development programme which has the overarching aim of:
"empowering local sports clubs to embrace and enhance their long term development"
WHAT ARE THE AIMS OF CLUBDUNDEE?
=> Increasing / sustaining club membership
=> Improving volunteer development for club administration and organisation
=> Raising the standards of coaching and officiating in clubs
=> Improving communication
=> Developing competition opportunities for all levels of ability
=> Developing links with schools and communities
=> Embracing Long Term Athlete Development
=> Making Clubs Safer
WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED FROM PARTICIPATING CLUBS?
When clubs sign up for ClubDundee, the following will be expected of them:
=> A minimum of 2 club representatives to attend all meetings with the professional officer (more representatives to attend if possible)
=> With the help of the designated officer, the club will produce a Club Specific Development Plan
=> All policies and procedures will be relevant to the club and once approved, implemented by the club
=> Complete identified actions
=> Assist the officer with Monitoring & Evaluation of their progress through ClubDundee
=> Completion of Affiliation Level within 3 months & completion of Development
=> Level within the following 12 months
=> Regularly review club policies and procedures
WHAT CAN CLUBS EXPECT FROM THE SPORTS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER?
Each officer is expected to:
=> Organise & lead all ClubDundee meetings
=> Produce a note of all meetings (actions/minutes)
=> Provide club with relevant information & templates
=> Liaise with club to produce a Club Specific Development Plan
=> Act as a liaison between club & DCC
=> Meet all timescales
=> Monitor & evaluate the progress made by the club
CLUB REWARDS
Clubs participating in ClubDundee will hopefully receive a number of benefits from their participation including professional officer support. However, as stated, clubs will also receive rewards for the completion of the Affiliation and Development levels:
=> signed certificate with charter mark which they can use on club publications and marketing
=> an engraved plaque for completion of development level
=> reduced costs for Dundee based coach education courses, for example, almost 50% off first aid courses
=> publicity within Sports development section publications / web-site and notice boards
=> photo-call and press coverage
The Sports Development Section will be working on an on-going basis to secure additional benefits for clubs.
